I’ve been very fortunate in my life and with my career. I’ve gotten to do some incredible things that have taken me all over the world. Recently I was in London shooting the 5th installment of Sharknado. When I’m on location, being away from my family is the most difficult challenge to endure. On this shoot, I’m scheduled to be away for six weeks, but there was a bright spot in that time period that allowed me to fly my wife Erin in for us to enjoy some time off together.
We spent five incredible days over the Valentine’s Day week. To make sure I had all my bases covered in terms of creature comforts I looked to the Jumeirah Group for a place to stay. As a young company founded in 1997, Jumeirah’s aim was as clear in its simplicity as it was bold in its ambition: to become an industry leader by establishing a world class portfolio of hotels that would redefine benchmarks set by the world’s finest establishments. And judging by the Grosvenor House Suites in London, they have done exactly that. When entering the Grosvenor House Suites you can immediately tell you’ve entered a place of distinction. Our first interaction was with the concierge desk. We were warmly greeted by the well-polished staff who confirmed our reservations, then escorted us to the security elevators where we checked in. Just standing at the front desk I got a sense that this was going to be a very memorable stay. The building dates back a many years, but the Jumeirah Group took their time restoring it and over the course of eight years restored the buildings splendor to a height grander than it was initially brought to be. The attention to detail and level of finish is typical in only the finest of construction, clearly there was no expense spared in resurrecting the Grosvenor House Suites. Our room was no less spectacular. Upon entering our two bedroom corner suite that over looked Hyde Park, the smell of fresh flowers permeated the air.
As we explored the beautifully decorated suite each room was more special then the next. In the full kitchen, the staff had left us Champagne and some delicious welcome treats with our names on them. I was so touched, and incredibly impressed that the management had printed family pictures off my social media sites and left them on frameless stands for Erin and I. Though our little girls were not with us, this little gesture brought them closer regardless.
The second bedroom was setup for kids. Teddy Bears on the pillows, kid size robes and slippers on the bed. The master was amazing. Perhaps one of the most comfortable beds I have ever been in. The bath and shower were done in stone tile with a contemporary design that gave the feeling similar to that of a spa. The entire suite was smart wired with touchpads that controlled everything for room service to closing the blackout shades in each room. Each night we returned to our room, the Grosvenor House Suites did not miss an opportunity to impress.
Enjoying a romantic Valentine’s Day out on the town was only made better when we returned to our room to find heart shaped pastries and more Champagne. If you are looking for an unforgettable, secure place to stay in the heart of London, look no further, this is truly a Celebrity Hideaway to the top degree.0
