In the heart of the legendary Aegean Sea, around the main Cycladic islands unfold spots of unique diving attraction. This is a paradise for divers looking for sophisticated and undiscovered sites as the area thrives of non-commercial diving areas that are of particular historic and maritime significance. Divers are able to discover some of the least known maritime and wartime wrecks while enjoying dramatic reefs and a diversity of marine life and colours. The expedition unfolds in the main Cycladic Islands such as Kea, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Syros and Kythnos, sailing with luxury motor yachts and an impeccable crew and hosts.
Your scuba host is one of the most experienced and well-educated oceanographer and divers worldwide. With decades of global experience, he shares with you exclusive spots he has spent years researching and discovering, making this a totally unique experience and non comparable with anything else offered in Greece. He is currently involved in marine research projects and the development of marine protected areas in the Cyclades, working with Pierre-Yves Cousteau and Cousteau Divers and he is a 3* CMAS Instructor. His wealth of knowledge, shared with you throughout this extraordinary cruise, will offer insight into this rich country’s past and reveal in greater depth, its natural wonders and unique treasures.
Day 1-3: Athens, Kea, Mykonos
Your boat sails from Athens towards Mykonos. During this first part in Cyclades waters, guests will explore 3 major shipwrecks with Britannic (sistership of Titanic) to be the most known one. In Kea guests will have a short presentation with photos and the video of Jacques Yves Cousteau’s dive in the area. In Mykonos waters after locating a cargo shipwreck and diving in a close by reef, the yacht sails towards the south beaches of the island where divers can enjoy the lifestyle of the island and get introduced into the beach life and tempo.
Day 4-5: Naxos, Paros
The area offers many wreck sites for exploration and plenty of time can be enjoyed here in the Paros-Naxos channel, making the 5 main wrecks accessible from mooring in either island. Dive options include shipwrecks from Roman and Classical period to recent times, a WWII airplane and amazing sea life. Also accessible in the area is an underwater cave with stalactites. A truly amazing experience as you enter from a depth between 4m to 12m below the waterline and you surface inside the cave, remove regulators and masks and marvel at the overhanging stalactites in an outlandish blue light.
Day 6-8: Syros, Kythnos,
In Syros guests will tour in the town of Ermoupolis with its art galleries neoclassical buildings and site. Syros is an excellent diving place with dive locations in small depths, easy access and good for photography and passengers that only snorkel. The final destination of this unique expedition is Kythnos Island and a dive to a wreck that has become a sanctuary for colorful marine life.
